One of my favorite drink is Golden Milk. Golden Milk, also known as turmeric milk, is a warm and comforting beverage that is not only delicious but also has potential health benefits.
Here's a vegan version of Golden Milk for you:
Golden Milk Recipe (vegan)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk of your choice)
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (or use freshly grated ginger)
- 1 pinch black pepper (helps with the absorption of curcumin in turmeric)
- 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
- A dash of vanilla extract (optional)
- 5 Drops of Golden Drops (see below)
Instructions:
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, whisk together almond milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and coconut oil (if using).
- Heat Gently: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Gently heat the mixture, stirring constantly. Be careful not to bring it to a boil; you just want to warm it.
- Sweeten to Taste: Add maple syrup or agave syrup to sweeten the Golden Milk. Adjust the sweetness according to your taste preferences.
- Add Vanilla (Optional): If you like, you can add a dash of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
- Strain (Optional): If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the Golden Milk using a fine mesh sieve to remove any bits of ginger or spices.
- Add the 5 drops approximately of Golden Drops (see below)
- Serve: Pour the Golden Milk into your favorite mug and enjoy! You can sprinkle a little extra cinnamon on top for garnish if desired.
- Experiment: Feel free to customize the recipe by adjusting the spice levels or trying different plant-based milks. Some people also like to add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra flavor.
Golden Milk is not only a delicious and soothing drink but also a great way to incorporate the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric into your diet. Enjoy!
